Exchanges sent

What a relief, two exchanges I've sent have been received! It's always a bit exciting to wait if they arrive safely :) The one above was Autumn exchange for Helen (Seasonal Exchangers group) and the design is from Sampler & Antique Needlework Quarterly Magazine, winter 2002. It's called Acorn Autumn Sampler and it's designed by Ruth Ann Russell of C Street Samplerworks. It was stitched as a sampler in the magazine, but I wanted to try if I could fit the motifs into a scissor case, as scissor case was what I thought immediately when I saw the design :) So this is the result, I stitched it with WDW threads on natural 30 count linen.

The exchange below is what I stitched for Heather in Stitching Bloggers Birthday/Christmas Club Exchange. I read that Heather likes Bent Creek, so I chose this design from JCS Ornaments issue 2003, it's called Noel. I changed some colours as I didn't have all the colours in my stash, but it's stitched with WDW, GAST and DMC threads, on 30 count natural linen.

I enjoyed stitching these both a lot, as I just love these exchanges when you can stitch more than one piece for the same person during the year. It's a great opportunity to get to know your exchange partner a bit better! Helen and Heather are both so sweet and wonderful persons and it was such a pleasure to stitch and plan what to stitch for them :)

There's still one exchange travelling of which I'm very worried about... I've sent it to Venezuela in the beginning of December and it still hasn't arrived, it's the last one still on its way in SBEBB's Christmas Ornament Exchange. Well, we'll wait a bit longer and then I'll start stitching a replacement if it doesn't arrive.

Jipii, pari vaihtoa on mennyt perille!

Leena - both of these exchanges are marvelous! You really did a nice job on the scissors case for Helen. The pinkeep for Heather is really cute too!

I hope that the SBEBB ornament turns up soon - I would hate for you to have to stitch another one!

Leena - wow - two really gorgeous exchanges! I LOVE the scissors keep you made - and how talented of you to make it from a larger sampler design. It's truly gorgeous, I'm sure Helen loves it :) I hope you hear very soon that your ornament to Venezuela arrives safely - it's such a worry when things take much longer than you think they are going to :(
