We're having a birthday exchange in our local group of stitchers this year. I stitched for Marja and as her favourite colour is red and favourite animal cat, I chose this design by Isa Vautier. I just love these cat designs by Isa Vautier and I'd love to stitch them all :)

When speaking of Isa Vautier, the second part of her mystery sampler (Le Grand Marquoir) has been published. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before in my blog, but it is published in parts at Edisaxe website, which is a French publisher (for example Mains & Merveilles magazines). This sampler will be gorgeous! I'm not stitching it at the moment, but I will certainly stitch at least parts of it, as the squares are perfect for small projects too.

I've received a beautiful spring exchange from Veronica, I will take photos of it soon to show you! We've had a wonderful, sunny day today and now I'm off to stitch :) Have a happy evening!

Oupsilaisten kanssa järkkäsimme täksi vuodeksi ekan synttärivaihtomme ja minä pistelin vaihdossa Marjalle. Marjan lempiväri on punainen ja lempieläin kissa, niinpä valitsin tämän Isa Vautierin mallin. Tykkään kovasti noista Isan kissamalleista ja haluaisin pistellä kaikki tietty!

Isa Vautierista puheen ollen, toinen osa hänen ilmaisesta merkkaustaulumallistaan (Le Grand Marquoir) on julkaistu. En muista, että olenko kirjoittanut siitä täällä aikaisemmin, mutta tuo malli julkaistaan Edisaxen sivuilla osissa. Edisaxe on ranskalainen kustantaja, joka julkaisee mm. Mains & Merveilles -lehteä. Tuo malli näyttää tosi ihanalta! En itse pistele sitä kokonaan ainakaan nyt, mutta osia pistelen varmasti, koska noita neliöitä on helppo käyttää pikkutöihin.

Sain Veronicalta ihanan kevätvaihdon, otan siitä pian kuvia ja laitan tänne blogiin. Meillä on tänään ollut tosi kaunis, aurinkoinen päivä ja nyt painun pistelemään :) Ihanaa iltaa!

Happy Monday! It's snowing here :) I guess I'm a fool to admit it, but I like it, even in March when everyone else is anxiously waiting for spring already :) Besides, as it's snowing, it's better to like it, it's my philosophy :) It's always equally amazing to realize that in two months all the snow is gone and the trees begin to be green. I love seasons!

Thank you for your comments, it's always a pleasure to read them :) I participated in The Prairie Schooler Exchange (organized by Becky) and this is the wonderful scissor holder I received from Roberta! Everything goes together perfectly - design, fabrics, colours and even the lovely charm. It's perfect! Roberta has stitched it beautifully over one and her finishing is so neat too! This is my first scissor holder and I love it :) Thank you Roberta so much, I truly love it.

Ihanaa maanantaita! Meillä sataa lunta :) On vähän hullua ehkä tykätä tästäkin, kun toiset odottavat kovasti jo kevättä, mutta kyllä se näyttää kauniilta maaliskuussakin. Sitä paitsi koska sataa lunta, niin on parempi tykätä siitä jos haluaa että tänään on mukava päivä :) On joka vuosi aina yhtä ihmeellistä ajatella, että jo parin kuukauden päästä tämäkin lumi on lähtenyt ja luonto alkaa vihertää. Vuodenajat ovat ihania!

Kiitokset kommenteista, niitä on aina yhtä piristävää lukea! Osallistuin The Prairie Schooler -vaihtoon, joita Becky järjestää. Sain tämän kauniin saksikotelon Robertalta. Tykkään kovasti, se on niin nätti ja siististi tehty. Minulla ei olekaan saksikoteloa ennestään, niin että senkin suhteen täydellinen vaihto. Värit, malli, kankaat ja tuo pieni koriste sopivat kaikki hyvin yhteen keskenään.

Alapuolella koriste, jonka pistelin Kayelle samassa vaihdossa. Tuo talvinen malli on julkaistu The Gift of Stitching -lehdessä.

Ihanaa, ihanaa uutta viikkoa! Minulla on tällä viikolla aikaa pistellä iltaisin enemmän kuin pitkään aikaan, jeejeejipii :)

Gifts from and for friends - Lahjoja ystäviltä ja ystäville

These are the lovely Christmas gifts I've received from two stitching friends, we exchange Christmas gifts every year at Valentine's day :) I guess it may be called a tradition already, I can't remember exactly but I think this was the third time? These two ladies are talented in sewing too, so I received the practical and pretty pouch from Maria and the cute cat from Ritva. Thank you so much once again for these gifts (and the extras I didn't photograph) and for your friendship :)

This year I also wanted to sew something for these ladies, so I made pouches. I was in a terrible hurry to take the photos, so I only took photo of one, but I've made another one too and it is identical :) The design is from a French book (Galons, broderies et fantaisie).

Nämä ihanat joululahjat sain kahdelta ystävältä, vaihdamme aina joululahjoja ystävänpäivänä :) Tätä voisi varmaan kutsua jo perinteeksi, koska nyt oli muistaakseni kolmas kerta. Molemmat ystävät ovat taitavia ompelukoneella ompelijoita myös, niinpä sain Marialta kauniin sinisen ja käytännöllisen pussukan ja Ritvalta tosi söpon kissan. Kiitos vielä kerran hurjasti näistä ihanista lahjoista ja muista ekstroista joita oli mukana paketeissa, sekä ennen kaikkea kiitos ystävyydestä :)

Uskaltauduin itsekin ompelemaan jotain lahjaksi tänä vuonna Ritvalle ja Marialle, tein nimittäin tuossa alapuolella näkyvät pussukat. Tein kyllä kummallekin oman, mutta otin kuvia kiireessä ja otin kuvan vain toisesta, toinen on ihan samanlainen :) Malli on ranskalaisesta kirjasta (Galons, broderies et fantaisie).

Thank you SO much for your comments on the previous post and thank you SO much for your e-mails, all is well here even though I haven't posted in ages :) I have had couple of big work projects to do and I decided to concentrate on them until I've finished them and then get back into blogging again :) I have a lot to show so I will post often next week! As always, I try to post chronologically, if I can remember what happened first... :)

First of all, I'm so happy there has been so many people taking part in the draw, THANK YOU! I love reading about your favourite places in the world. Above you see the wonderful mailart I received from Taffy in an exchange. The theme was Birds of a Feather as we had to use motifs from this Victoria Sampler design, it was published in The Gift of Stitching magazine last year. Taffy stitched this gorgeous envelope for me, I love it, especially the white lacy edge on the back. Thank you Taffy so much, it's such a beauty!

Below is what I stitched for Paulie in the same exchange. Paulie loves especially blue-green thread, so I chose the stamps and the thread for the front accordingly. On the back I stitched motifs from this Birds of a Feather sampler. I've bought the piece of linen last year from Paris. I was so happy to receive Paulie's name for this exchange, as we have a special connection - we share the same birthday :) Last September Paulie stitched a wonderful birthday mailart for me as a surprise and I will always remember that and treasure the mailart.

Well it's Friday night and I'm off to stitch! I haven't been stitching much this week, but this weekend I have time :) I'll also visit your blogs finally. I'll be back soon with more photos to share, in the meantime have a very happy weekend and happy happy stitching!

Kiitos hurjasti kommenteista ja kiitos myös sähköposteista, kaikki on hyvin täällä vaikka viime kirjoituksesta onkin ikuisuus :) Minulla oli pari isoa työjuttua tehtävänä ja päätin, että keskityn niihin ja palaan blogeihin kunhan saan ne tehtyä :) Nyt on työt tehty ja paljon kuvia näytettävänä! Yritän kirjoitella aikajärjestyksessä kuten yleensä, jos vaan muistan mitä milloinkin on tapahtunut... :)

Yläpuolella ihastuttava kirjekuori, jonka sain vaihdossa Taffylta. Tässä vaihdossa piti käyttää Victoria Samplerin Birds of a Feather -mallin kuvioita, tämä malli on julkaistu The Gift of Stitching -lehdessä viime vuonna. Taffyn kuori on niin kaunis, tykkään kovasti tuosta taustapuolen pitsisestä reunasta, joka on leikattu kauniisti. Ihanaa postia tällainen!

Alapuolella kuori, jonka pistelin Paulielle samassa vaihdossa. Paulie pitää sinivihreästä langasta erityisesti, niinpä valitsin postimerkit ja langan sen mukaan. Taakse pistelin kuviot tuosta mallista kahdella eri värillä. Kangas on ostettu Pariisista viime vuonna. Oli mukava saada Paulien nimi tässä vaihdossa, hän tuntuu läheiseltä, koska olemme syntyneet samana päivänä :) Viime syyskuussa sain Paulielta ihanan, ihanan synttärikuoren yllätyksenä.

Jippii, on perjantai-ilta ja minä painun pistelemään! En ole tällä viikolla juurikaan pistellyt mitään, mutta tänä viikonloppuna on aikaa pistellä ja myös tehdä blogikierrosta :) Lisää kuvia tänne tulee ensi viikolla. Ihanaa viikonloppua jokaiselle ja pistelyniloa :)
