Pheew, I survived last week's evening schedule - that is couple of scouting activites, a scout board meeting, couple of choir rehearsals and couple of choir concerts. I'm sure you believe when I say that on Sunday I did absolutely nothing :) Well, I slept late and stitched and read and baked a little, but that equals to nothing as it was a very lazy day at home :) This week I'm already preparing for Tampere craft fair with Violarium, but evenings are less packed.

Becky K. has received my SBBC birthday exchange, I made her a "catkin", as she wrote in her blog :) I think this is the first design I've stitched three times, I really like this one and as Becky likes cats and autumn, I thought this is perfect. I've stitched this also for my daughter as a birthday gift and for another exchange. It was great to stitch for Becky and I was happy to hear that she likes her exchange.

Puh ja huoh, selvisin viime viikon illoista - eli parista partiomenosta, lippukunnan hallituksen kokouksesta, parista kuoroharkoista ja parista kuoroesiintymisestä. Sunnuntaina en sitten enää tehnytkään yhtään mitään :) Nukuin pitkään ja vähän pistelin ja luin ja leivoin, mutta niitä ei lasketa, koska oli erittäin laiska kotipäivä :) Tällä viikolla valmistudun jo Tampereen messuihin, mutta illat eivät sentään ole kaikki täysiä.

Becky K. sai just oikeana päivänä SBBC:n synttärivaihdon, tein tällaisen kurpitsakissan. Tämä on varmaan eka malli jonka olen pistellyn kolme kertaa, tätä vaan on niin kiva tehdä aina uudestaan :) Olen tehnyt tämän ensin tytölle synttärilahjaksi ja sitten toiseen vaihtoon. Oli kiva suunnitella Beckylle vaihtoa, hän sanoi että tykkää kissoista ja syksystä, siksi valitsin tämän.

Lisäsin Violariumin blogiin kuvan kehystetystä Le Temps nous égare -työstä. Siellä on myös erikoistarjous blogin lukijoille, niin että kurkatkaa sieltä jos Isa Vautierin mallit kiinnostavat!

Ihanaa tiistaita! Kirjoittelen tätä pienen karvaisen ystävän kanssa, Pipari nukkuu nimittäin hammaslääkärilaskun päällä (kävin aamulla, uh). Neiti nukkuu TOSI oudossa asennossa, mutta herää varmasti jos alan kaivella kameraa. Niin että uskokaa kun sanon, että on söpön näköinen roikottaessaan päätä nitojan päällä :)

Birthday exchange and of photographing cats... - Synttärivaihto ja kahden kissan kuvaamisesta...

Irmeli had a birthday and I received her name in Finnish Yahoo group birthday exchange this year. I've known Irmeli for some time now and even met her once, she's such a sweet lady and I was delighted to receive her name! She likes houses and autumnal colours for example, so I chose this border to stitch. It was difficult to decide what to put in the middle, then I found these metal decorations in a craft store and they seemed perfect :) I finished this as a box cover.

Melissa asked for a photo of Pipari :) It's true that she has grown so much already! She and Manteli are getting along better and better these days, as you'll soon see... I'd love to post photos of my cats every time I blog, but sometimes it's not so easy to take photos of a tiny kitten with full of energy :) If you want to go to extremes, you might want to try to take photos of two cats :)

I enjoy reading blogs, where you can see photos of cats. Fortunately stitchers often seem to own cats as I rarely read other than stitching blogs. A different matter is of course, if you run into a blog written by pros in cat photography. I just love this blog and it's too bad for you English readers that it's written in Finnish only, as the style of writing is absolutely charming too. Please take a look at those wonderful photos of the cutest Bengal cat Mr. Mäykynen!

Irmelillä oli synttärit ja sain Irmelin parikseni Yahoon ristipistolistan synttärivaihdossa. Olen tuntenut Irmelin jo jonkin aikaa ja tavannutkin kerran ja hän on aivan ihana ihminen! Oli tosi mukava saada pistellä Irmelille. Hän pitää esimerkiksi taloista ja syksyisistä väreistä, niinpä valitsin tämän reunuksen. En millään meinannut keksiä mitä laitan tuohon keskelle, kunnes löysin Sinooperista näitä metallisia koristeita, jotka tuntuivat heti oikeilta :) Tein tästä laatikkoon kannen.

Yleisön pyynnöstä pari kuvaa Piparista ja Mantelista. Pipari on kasvanut kovasti ja katit tulevat toimeen keskenään jo melko hyvin välillä, kuten kuvista kohta näkyy... Mielelläni laittaisin kuvia kissoista joka kerta kun tänne kirjoittelen, mutta pienestä Duracell-pupumaisesta kissasta ei ole kovin helppoa ottaa kuvia. Jos haluaa tehdä kokemuksesta extreme-urheilua, niin voi yrittää ottaa kuvia kahdesta kissasta :)

On ihana lukea blogeja, joissa on kuvia kissoista. Onneksi monella pistelijällä on kissoja :) Seuraan lähes yksinomaan ristipistoblogeja, mutta neuleblogejakin lueskelen tai oikeastaan katson, jos niissä vilahtelee kissoja. Kissakuvauksen raskassarjalaiset ovat tietty vielä asia erikseen, jos tuollaiseen blogiin törmää, niin sillä ei tarvitse olla mitään tekemistä käsitöiden kanssa :) Kurkatkaa ihmeessä noita bengaliherra Mäykysen seikkailuja, mahtavia kuvia ja ihastuttavaa tekstiä!

The Prairie Schooler Exchange for Nic - The Prairie Schooler -vaihto

This exchange really made me nervous, as it travelled for about six weeks from Finland to United Kingdom - a journey that normally takes 3 days. But as the postal situation in UK has been far from normal lately, I was hoping it will turn up eventually. Nic finally received this some time ago and I am very relieved! It's a box cover and I must say I like it and I'm happy Nic likes it too :)

Tämän vaihdon perillemenoa joutui jo vähän hermoilemaan, se matkusti Englantiin kuutisen viikkoa. Mutta koska tiesin, että postitilanne ei ole ihan normaali siellä, niin toivoin kovasti, että vaihto menisi jossain vaiheessa perille. Vihdoin viimein Nic paketin saikin ja tykkäsi siitä kuulemma. Tein laatikon kannen ja tykkään tuosta kyllä itsekin, harmittanut olisi jos olisi matkalle jäänyt :)

Ihanaa viikonloppua! Lyhyestä virsi kaunis, tylsä pieni kirjoitus tuli tästä, koska nyt hyppään pois koneelta. Tämän viikonlopun päätarkoitus nimittäin on pistellä, pistellä ja ehkä vielä vähän pistellä :)

Over one exchange - Yhden yli -vaihto

We organized Over one exchange within our local stitching group. My dear stitching friend Anne who lives across the road, brought me this beautie yesterday! She stitched and sewed this wonderful pillow for me. What can I say - I love it, obviously :) It's very autumnlike and Anne does great job both stitching and sewing.

The most incredible thing is that this design (designed by Marjorie Massey and published in her book Petits points et toile de lin) is originally charted totally white and Anne chose all these beautiful autumn colours herself! Anne also gave me a wonderful chart from my wishlist, yippee!

By the way, we have a VERY strict exchange mum in our exchanges (nobody dares to object if she says something) *grin* and in this exchange we were only allowed to give one stitching related item in addition to the stitched gift :D

I stitched for Ritva and it was wonderful to stitch for her in this exchange, she's a dear friend. These local exchanges are the best, as it's always great to exchange gifts among friends you know and stitch and spend time with :) I just had to stitch this design (L'Heure du Thè by Tralala), because every time I visit Ritva, we drink tea and there's lots of talking (= words = letters), so this one seemed appropriate. The photos aren't very good, but it's a box cover.

Oupsilaisten kanssa järkkäsimme Yhden yli -vaihdon. Naapurissa asuva ristipistoystävä Anne toi tuon ihanan tyynyn minulle eilen. Mitäs tästä voisikaan sanoa, tykkään hurjasti tietysti, se on aivan ihana! Se on ihanan syksyinen ja Anne osaa totisesti pistellä ja käyttää ompelukonetta. Jos Anne yritätkään kommentoida tähän jotain päinvastaista, niin poistan kommenttisi :D

Mielettömin ja uskomattomin juttu minusta tässä vaihdossa on se, että malli (joka on Marjorie Masseyn ja julkaistu hänen kirjassaan Petits points et toile de lin) on alunperin suunniteltu kokonaan valkoiseksi. Anne on itse valinnut nuo upeat ja yhteensopivat värit! Sain Annelta myös ihanan mallin toivelistaltani. Kiitos, kiitos naapuriin, aivan ihana vaihto!

Meillä muuten on ihan ÄLYTTÖMÄN ankara vaihtoemo näissä Oupsin vaihdoissa, eikä kukaan uskalla vastustaa, kun hän sanoo jotain * iso virnistys *. Tässä vaihdossa saimme antaa vain yhden pistelyyn liittyvän tavaran pistellyn lahjan lisäksi :D

Minä pistelin vaihdossa Ritvalle, oli kiva pistellä hyvälle ystävälle. Oupsin vaihdot ovat ehdottomasti parhaita, koska on ihana pistellä tutuille ihmisille, jotka tuntee hyvin ja joiden kanssa pistelee ja viettää muutenkin aikaa :) Tämä malli (Tralalan L'Heure du Thè) tuntui sopivalta, koska joka kerta Ritvalla kylässä käydessään saa teetä ja puhetta (= sanoja = kirjaimia) riittää. Kuvat ovat vähän onnettomia, mutta päällystin siis rasian.

Summer exchange - Kesävaihto

Veronica and I have been stitching seasonal exchanges for each other this year and summer exchange was the last one. Veronica stitched me this beautiful ornament and sent me lots of extra gifts too! The ornament is so summerlike, with the bird and pink colour and I just love the shape. The tiny button is a perfect addition! Thank you Veronica for the ornament and everything else you sent me, it was a wonderful package!

I've so much enjoyed these exchanges with Veronica, it's a bit sad that our exchange is now over. My last exchange for Veronica was a small tin cover. The design is part of Tralala's Maisons de Campagne, but I changed the colours. It's stitched on 40 count linen with Atalie and DMC threads.

Thank you for your comments! Pipari is such a cute kitten and brings very much joy to my days, just like Manteli :) I took another photo of her today, when she was climbing higher and higher and higher... :)

Veronican kanssa olemme pistelleet toisillemme vaihtoja koko vuoden. Tämä kesävaihto oli viimeinen, sain Veronicalta ihanan pitkulaisen koristeen, joka on tosi kesäinen tuulahdus lintuineen ja väreineen. Suloinen nappikin sopii niin hyvin systeemiin. Sain hurjasti kaikkea muutakin ihanaa paketissa. Nämä vaihdot ovat olleet tosi kivoja, aina on vähän haikeaa kun tällainen pitempiaikainen vaihto loppuu.

Itse pistelin viimeisenä vaihtona Veronicalle rasian kannen. Kuvio on otettu Tralalan mallista Maisons de Campagne, mutta vaihdoin vähän värejä. Pistelin sen 40 count pellavalle Atalien ja DMC:n langoilla.

Kiitos kaunis kommenteista! Pipari on suloinen ja tuo paljon iloa jokaiseen päivään, kuten Mantelikin :) Alimmaisena tänään otettu kuva, kun pikkuneiti kiipesi aina vaan korkeammalle ja korkeammalle... :)

Yippee, another brand new Monday :) I've received this exchange and gifts ages ago (for my birthday) and I'm a bit late posting... Anyway, I received this wonderful birthday exchange from Jaana S. She lives in Southern Finland and we've met in an Internet cross stitch group and we've known each other for years, so it was wonderful to receive an exchange from her. The pillow is so pretty and neatly finished, I love the design and colours and also the extra gifts she sent.

The gorgeous mailart came from the Netherlands, Paulie made it for me. She is born on the same day than I am and she stitched me this beauty! She does absolutely wonderful job with all her mailart, I'm so grateful to know her. This isn't the first mailart I've received from her and I really appreciate all the work and thought she puts in her mailart. Thank you Paulie from the bottom of my heart!

Leena is a stitching friend with whom I've met many times :) She's a wonderful lady and it's always a pleasure to chat with her. She stitched me this lovely heart ornament and sent it as a surprise. She also sent me beautiful candles in autumn colours, they decorate our kitchen table now :)

Mari came to a stitching meeting couple of weeks ago and she brought me this knitted dishcloth! It's the first knitted dishcloth I have and it was a great surprise. She gave me some yummy chocolate too :)

I've also received my last seasonal exchange from Veronica, but I haven't taken photos yet. It's beautiful and I'll try to post about it soon! My round 3 Prairie Schooler exchange has been travelling for much too long and I'm getting really worried... I truly hope it arrives to the recipient soon, I was very fond of what I stitched for this exchange :)

Ok, now I have shown you all the stitching related stuff, so I can introduce our new family member :) Please meet Pipari, she is approximately 9 or 10 weeks old. We got her home from animal shelter a bit earlier than normally, because her kitten friends and nursing "mum" went to new homes too and the staff at the shelter thought that it's better if she doesn't have to be alone.

She is the most cute and playful little kitten imaginable, she is loaded with energy and she is so curious! She is very healthy and chirpy and alive and is eating all the time and never stops exploring the house. She is trying to make friends with Manteli, who is more distant and is certainly thinking that "how can someone so tiny be so annoying" :D But they are getting along better every day and they don't hiss or growl to each other so much anymore. They already run together all around the house couple of times a day and I hope they will soon be great friends :)

Below some photos, the first ones have been taken on the second day I guess and the last ones during the weekend. She has been at home now for almost a week and I just love both my cats SO much :)

Jee, maanantai :) Sain tämän vaihdon ja nämä lahjat jo aikaa sitten, synttäriksi, olen vaan vähän myöhässä kirjoittamassa... Jaana S. eteläisestä Suomesta lähetti Yahoon ristipistolistan synttärivaihdon minulle. Olemme tunteneet toisemme jo vuosikausia, niinpä oli tosi kiva saada vaihto Jaanalta! Tyyny on niin, niin nätti - kaunis malli, ihanat värit ja hienosti viimeistelty - tykkään kovasti. Kiitos Jaana ja kiitos myös kankaista ja langoista, tosi ihania!

Upea kirjekuori tuli Hollannista Paulielta, meillä on sama synttäripäivä :) Paulien kirjekuoret ovat aina yhtä ihania, hän tekee mahtavia pistelyitä ja olen tosi iloinen kun olen tutustunut häneen. Kauniit värit ja kuviot, hänen kuorissaan on aina ajatus mukana. Ihana yllätys!

Kaima asustaa vähän lähempänä ja teki minulle suloisen sydämen synttäriylläriksi! Sain myös kauniita, syksyisen värisiä kynttilöitä, jotka koristavat keittiön pöytää. Sopivat muuten väreiltään täydellisesti Marikan tuomaan kukkakimppuun (tiedoksi vaan Marikalle ja kiitos vielä), niitä on vierekkäin ihailtu :) Kiitos Leena tästä ihanasta yllätyksestä!

Mari tuli meille ristipistotapaamiseen pari viikkoa sitten ja toi elämäni ensimmäisen kudotun luutun. Ihastuttava sininen ylläri saapui sinisen suklaan kera, kiitos Mari!

Olen myös saanut Veronicalta viimeisen vuodenaikavaihdon, mutta en ole ottanut kuvia vielä. Se on kaunis, kirjoittelen siitä kunhan ehdin. Prairie Schooler -vaihdon lähetin kuun alussa ja se on viipynyt ihan liian kauan matkalla ja olen jo tosi huolissani... Parempi olisi ymmärtää sen paketin mennä perille, tykkäsin kovasti siitä laatikosta minkä lähetin tässä vaihdossa :)

Noniin, pistelyosuus on takana, niinpä voin esitellä teille uuden perheenjäsenemme :) Neiti Pipari, ikää noin 9 tai 10 viikkoa. Saimme Piparin kotiin eläinkodista vähän odotettua aiemmin, koska varaemo ja pentukaverit lähtivät uusiin koteihin, eivätkä eläinkodin tädit halunneet jättää Piparia sinne yksin. Päätimme, että neiti on osannut syntyä Ranskan kansallispäivänä, eli synttäreitä vietetään 14. heinäkuuta :)

Pipari on suloinen, leikkisä, pirtsakka ja energinen kuin Duracell-pupu, ihan uskomaton pakkaus! Syö koko ajan ja tutkii taloa koko ajan ja lopun aikaa nukkuu taju kankaalla, kuten nyt tässä läppärin vieressä. Tykkää selvästi olla lähempänä ihmisiä kuin Manteli ja yrittää kovasti tutustua Manteliin, joka ihan takuulla ajattelee, että "kuinka joku noin pieni voi olla noin ärsyttävä" :D Manteli on vähän etäinen eikä oikein ymmärrä miksi Pipari tunkee viereen, mutta enää täällä ei murista eikä sähistä niin paljon kuin ensimmäisinä päivinä. Välillä molemmat juoksevat peräkanaa ympäri taloa, jospa niistä kohta tulisi parhaita kavereita :)

Alapuolella on muutamia kuvia, ensimmäiset on otettu muistaakseni Piparin toisena päivänä meillä ja pari viimeistä viikonloppuna. Pipari on ollut kotona nyt kohta viikon ja minä sitten niiiiiin rakastan noita molempia kissojani :)

Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I've had a lovely day, even both sunshine and rain, what more could I hope for :) I've received some beautiful stitching related gifts, so here are the photos for you to admire too! I thought I will write several posts about all these, but then I realized I have time to write a long post today, so I'll show everything at the same time :)

Above the gorgeous birthday exchange (of our local stitching group) I received from Marja. She came unexpectedly behind our door on Sunday evening and brought this to me. Isn't the helm wheel just amazing?! Actually it's a mirror and Marja stitched this design from Isa Vautier's book Si la mer m'etait comptée and finished it on the mirror. As I've told before, our toilet is decorated with sea theme and Marja knew it, so she knows this is going to end up to the toilet :) I've been admiring it over and over again, what a perfect idea and perfect execution!

In this exchange we also had to send something to eat (Neuhaus chocolate), something to read (Cat People), something stitching related (Stitcher's journal), something related to a hobby or interest (cat picture bought in Estonia!) and something related to the birthday date (fingerless mittens with 7 heart buttons). I love fingerless mittens and I'm horrible in losing them and Marja knows that, so that's why she knitted me another pair :) I've already misplaced my both two pairs, but luckily I found the pair I've received as a gift last year. Now I can't find the pair I knitted myself though...

Anyway, thank you so much Marja, this exchange was wonderful and it was great to see you yesterday and open the presents with you :)

Today I received another birthday exchange gift, this one came from the USA, thank you Lynn very, very much! She stitched me this Bent Creek September Snapper (photos below), it's beautiful! I like Bent Creek a lot and Lynn has done wonderful job with stitching and finishing this pinkeep. September is my favourite month and the design is great.

Lynn also sent me lots of extra gifts and I love everything. I received Autumn Sampler chart + threads by LHN, big piece of fabric, thread cards, laying tool, great boxes for storing beads etc. and a needleminder with letter L in it. I also received six WONDERFUL pyramid tea bags (Tea Forté). I made a Google search as I've never heard of these before, so now I know. Oh boy they do smell so good! I'm going to taste one of them tonight, I received a beautiful huge tea mug from my family :)

Thank you Lynn from the bottom of my heart, it was a wonderful exchange and I can see you've really thought everything thoroughly, as I love every item :)

I photographed the beautiful tea bags on the small crocheted doilies I received from Tuula. Tuula crocheted and sent these to me for my birthday. They are so pretty and delicate, thank you dear friend!

Last but not least (what a long post this is :) ) I received a big envelope from Pirjo. She sent me eight (!!!!) charts and I absolutely love them. When I opened the envelope I just couldn't believe it, Pirjo has found these during the summer, she has thought of me when she has seen some La-D-Da charts for sale in blogs etc. She also included one Just Nan chart with charm, it's my first JN chart ever and I had it in my wishlist. What a package and what a surprise, I didn't have any of these and I just LOVE La-D-Da :)

What a mail day! Thank you everyone! Thank you also for your e-mails, SMSs, phone calls and everything, you've literally made my day :)

Kiitos hurjasti kaikista synttärionnitteluista! On ollut kiva päivä, sekä auringonpaistetta että sadetta, mitä muuta voi toivoa :) Olen saanut ihania ristipistolahjoja, niinpä tässä kuvia teillekin ihailtavaksi :) Ajattelin ensin, että kirjoittelen näistä usemman kirjoituksen, mutta hoksasin, että tänään on aikaa kirjoittaa pitkästi, niinpä näytän kaiken kerralla :)

Yläpuolella upea Oupsin synttärivaihto, jonka Marja kävi yllättäen tuomassa eilen illalla. Ihanat pistelevät naapurini olivat kyttäilleet puskissa ja ilmoitelleet milloin tulen kotiin ja niinpä Marja tiesi että ei tee turhaa reissua :D Siis mikä ihana ruori! Malli on Isa Vautierin merikirjasta ja ruori on alunperin peili. Meidän vessaa olen sisustanut meriteemalla ja Marja tiesi sen, niinpä tämä päätyy sinne :) Mahtava idea ja tietysti hieno viimeistely, niinkuin Marjan töissä aina!

Vaihdossa piti myös antaa jotain syötävää (Neuhausin suklaa), jotain luettavaa (Cat People), jotain pistelyyn liittyvä (pistelijän päiväkirja), jotain harrastuksiin liittyvää (kissataulu Tallinnasta!) ja jotain synttäripäivän numeroihin liittyvää (kämmekkäät, joissa on koristeena 7 nappia). Olen ihan toivoton kämmekkäiden kanssa, rakastan niitä ja hukkaan niitä koko ajan :) Marja tiesi sen ja kutoi minulle sen takia kämmekkäät :) Olen jo molemmat omistamani kaksi paria ehtinyt hukata, onneksi löysin lahjana viime vuonna saadut. Ne itse kutomani ovat nyt hukassa totaalisesti...

Joka tapauksessa, ihana vaihto! Kiitos Marja kamalasti ja kiitos kun kävit eilen, oli kiva aukaista näitä paketteja sinun seurassasi :)

Tänään sain toisen synttärivaihdon, Lynn USAsta lähetti tämän. Hän pisteli minulle Bent Creekin September Snapper -mallin (kuvat alla), se on ihana! Tykkään Bent Creekistä kovasti ja Lynn on pistellyt ja viimeistellyt hienon neulavahdin. Syyskuu on lempparikuukauteni ja tämä malli on tosi kiva.

Lynn lähetti myös paljon muita lahjoja - sain LHN:n Autumn Sampler -mallin ja langat siihen, ison palan pellavaa, lankakortteja, laying tool (mikä ikinä onkaan suomeksi tuo näppärä apuväline...), pikkuruisia laatikoita vaikkapa helmien säilyttämiseen ja neulamagneetin, jossa on L-kirjain. Sen lisäksi sain kuusi ihastuttavaa pyramidin muotoista teepussia (Tea Forté). Googletin vähän, kun en ollut koskaan näistä kuullut. Tuoksuvat ihanilta, maistan illalla, sain nimittäin ihanan ison teemukin perheeltä lahjaksi :)

Kuvasin teepussit Tuulalta saamieni pikkuliinojen päällä. Tuula virkkasi nämä ihanuudet minulle, kiitos hurjasti ihana ystäväiseni! Paketti tuli jo viime viikolla ja reippaana tyttönä aukaisin heti ja sain sitten Tuulalta kuunnella saarnan siitä hyvästä puhelimessa :D Tuula oli kuoreen kirjoittanut, että saa avata vasta 7.9, mutta enhän minä sitä huomannut... :)

Tämän pitkän kirjoituksen viimeisimpänä (muttei vähäisimpänä!) kuva ihanista malleista jotka sain myös tänään Pirjolta! Voitteko kuvitella mikä ylläri, hän lähetti minulle kahdeksan (!!!!) mallia ja tykkään jokaisesta :) Pirjo on ajatellut minua pitkin kesää, kun on nähnyt La-D-Dan malleja myynnissä blogeissa ja niin pois päin. Sain myös elämäni ensimmäisen Just Nanin mallin, tämä on ollut toivelistallani. Mikä paketti, en meinannut silmiäni uskoa kun kuoren aukaisin, minulla ei ollut yhtään näistä ennestään ja minähän RAKASTAN La-D-Daata :)

Olipas postipäivä! Kiitos hurjasti jokaiselle! Kiitos myös kaikista sähköposteista, tekstiviesteistä, puhelinsoitoista ja kaikesta, kirjaimellisesti teitte päiväni :) Kyllä noin saan suomeksikin sanoa, sehän on täsmälleen totta, paljon parempi kuin että pelastitte päiväni :)
